Brigitte Tolson initially began her interest in the art of esthetics with a
passion for theatrical makeup. She persued this career by taking
courses from every cosmetic line that offered classes- from Aveda to
Zirh, all well working as a freelance makeup artist in the Los Angeles
theatrical community. Eventually Brigitte established herself in the drag theatre community,
well known for creating elaborate false eyelashes made out of
everything from petals, to saphires to feathers.
Brigitte was a pioneer of the false eyelash
technique now known as "eyelash extensions"- a method using individual hairs and surgical glue to create a dramatic enhancement to the eyelashes thickness and length that looks completely natural. This eventually led to an offer to be a makeup artist for Sephora- a huge cosmetic retailer offering only the highest quality department store brands of skin care and cosmetics in a uniquely explorative environment.
Working with Sephora further provoked Brigitte's interest in skin care, which led to a persuit to find the top schools for advanced skin care to study to become a liscensed esthetician. Brigitte attended the International School of Beauty full time, and devoted all her time to studying. Upon graduation, she persued further advanced training at various schools including The International Dermal Institute and took courses on advanced waxing, dermal peeling techniques, laser operations, hard wax and other esthetic studies.
Soon after, Brigitte succesfully opened her own full day spa- About Face Day Spa and Makeup Studio in Palm Springs, performing services such as body wraps, permanent makeup, deluxe facials, full body waxing and medical grade peels and microdermabrasion. Aside from client service, Brigitte also managed to design and maintain a successful advertising campaign for the spa. Brigitte now currently works along side LA's top cosmetic surgeons assisting in procedures in addition to being the esthetician at the world renowned Massage Therapy Center in West LA.
